For many Finnish hunters, August 20th is the most expected day of the year. It’s time for duck hunt. Four hunters and two camera men recorded this day as it happened near Oulu, a Finnish city neighboured by well known waterfowl hunting areas. The hunters’ work in restoring wetland areas and feeding waterfowl gives the wanted and long waited result that the team appreciates. The team manages to bag quite a few mallards and teals. They also have some exciting moments with fly-by geese. In the next morning the men leave early, hoping to bag some geese this time. Leap day was schizophrenic around here. It was sunny and then snowed about a foot. The duck and geese were all out in force as well as a black squirrel in my back yard along the river.
